We’ve (finally) enabled transparent storage quotas through the Forgejo API.
This means that each org and user will now have a “Storage overview” tab in their respective settings showing the overall (and detailed) usage. The quota reflects the numbers from our docs.
If you exceed the free quota, please contact us! While we currently do not have a ready-to-use cost matrix, we have the technical ability to increase quotas on a per-user or per-org base against a occurring donation, so the additional storage costs are covered.
We’re aiming for a transparent cost for usage model and it would be great to discuss the longterm model among the user base of this platform. As mentioned in our values, we don’t do this to make profit but solely to cover costs (which we have to pay to the underlying storage providers). FYI: our current free quota is still several times higher compared to other Git platforms!
