Description:
I renamed my account from Hadgim to RadimS. I then created a new, separate account named Hadgim, to keep my personal and work profiles apart. My repository fleet-notes has Pages enabled.
Current behavior:
- The repository’s Pages settings show the new URL correctly:
https://radims.codefloe.page/fleet-notes/. That URL loads, but the page is blank. - The old URL
https://hadgim.codefloe.page/fleet-notes/still serves the site content. It should no longer exist, because theHadgimnamespace now belongs to a different account. - Trying to disable Pages for the repository fails with HTTP 500 – “Something went wrong”.
Expected behavior:
- After a username rename, Pages should be served only from the new subdomain (
radims.codefloe.page). - The old subdomain should stop serving content, or redirect. This matters even more here because the old username has been taken by another account.
- Disabling Pages should work without errors.
Steps to reproduce:
- Account
Ahas a repository with Pages enabled (a.codefloe.page/repo/). - Rename account
A→B. - Register a new account with the old name
A. - Open
b.codefloe.page/repo/: blank page. - Open
a.codefloe.page/repo/: old content is still served. - Repository settings → disable Pages: 500 error.
Impact:
Content from one account is published under a subdomain owned by another account, which is a namespace and privacy issue. The site is unavailable at its correct URL, and I can’t disable Pages to work around it.
Already tried: pushing a new commit, testing in a private window, re-saving the Pages settings.
